Many thanks to Berri Fox, President of Marble King for spending time to tell us the remarkable story of her company in its struggle and success to compete. Marble King is not just for marbles anymore – although it is the last American Toy Glass Marble Factory in the USA – and is featured prominently each year at the Wildwood, NJ National Marbles Tournament. But the company has also diversified to provide recycled glass and marbles for spray paint, chemical mixers, jewelry, architecture, and even in mausoleums. Through her hard work and that of her workers the company provides over 500,000 games per week to some of the biggest formerly American toy manufacturers. Her diversification has been noticed and featured on the Discovery Channel, and the Home Shopping Network. You can see the video on YouTube.com by searching for Marble King. Join us as we welcome Tom Vasale who will speak to us about something that seems remote today – Gardening. To join the Charleston Vandalia Rotary Club please fill out the online membership application or forward it to a friend. Hope to see you Wednesday morning. |
