Weekly Hightlights

Many Thanks
Jennifer Willits thanked the club for our generous gift of a gift card to Toys R Us for Chase Willits.

New China Project
The church has a new dishwasher in place, and they have ordered new china so within a few weeks we will be "weened" off the Styrofoam!

Fore More – For Golf
The Charleston Vandalia Club has fielded its first golf team for the upcoming Annual District 7550 Rotary Conference at the Greenbrier. The foursome includes Bruce Eckerson, Nancy Tonkin, Laura Ellis and Karen Price. More players would be great showing for the club – not to mention a lot of fun. Put a team of four together and join us this year at the Greenbrier for the Annual District 7550 Rotary Conference and we'll all play through together. To register download this form or contact District Governor, Tom Greenstreet @ 304-645-1321 for more registration information.

Win Free Registration
If you're planning to attend the Annual District 7550 Conference at the Greenbrier this November 11-13th you might be lucky enough to get the cost of your registration and meals covered for free. The first 5 people who contact Karen Price – Karen@wvma.com will win free registration and the cost of their conference meals covered by the Charleston Vandalia Rotary Club.

You will still be responsible to cover the cost of your room and any incidentals but Vandalia Rotary will pick up the $165 charge for registration fees and conference meals. So don't delay, contact Karen today – Karen@wvma.com and to register dowload this form.

Speaker Notes

The speaker this week was Jim Skidmore, Chancellor of the Community and Technical College Systems.  Chancellor Skidmore talked about the offerings the CTCS makes to individuals looking for training in both hard and soft skills.  Chancellor Skidmore works with WVMA to offer classes to WVMA members on such things as National Electric Code and Programmable Logistics Controls.

CTCS has also worked with the Wood Products industry doing Basic Electrical and Basic Hydraulic training, offering training in Elkins with classes at Armstrong Flooring and inviting other wood products manufacturers to join them for the class. We thank Chancellor Skidmore for joining us this week.
