Weekly Hightlights

Board Meeting
Board members will meet just after our regularly scheduled meeting next Wednesday. If you are a member of the board, please adjust your schedule accordingly so you can attend.

Save the Date
Coach Bob Huggins will be our featured speaker November 14th so save the date for this special guest. The meeting will be open to other clubs around the Charleston area so please tell your fellow Rotarians we're inviting them to join us for this special breakfast. Tickets will be sold on a first come first serve basis @ $10 per ticket.

Reverse Raffle Fundraiser
Work continues to make this the best fund raising activity to date. This year the club is offering one free make-up meeting to those of you who will bring a gift to give at the fundraiser. The prizes or gifts can be anything you can get your favorite restaurant, spa, theater, shop, store or resort to donate. For more information or to volunteer, please contact Mary Katherine Saville.

Gabriel Project
From soup to jams and jelly, the Gabriel Project is selling these items to raise money for the cause. If you'd like to order any of the products they offer, pick up an order form at one of our next club meetings or contact the Gabriel Project of West Virginia @304-414-4666.

Speaker Notes

We thank Scott Rotruck and Phil Pfister of Chesapeake Energy for joining us to talk about what's coming up for the company that's planted its corporate footprint in Charleston . In November 2005 Chesapeake Energy acquired Columbia Natural Resources to enter the Appalachian Basin because technological breakthroughs have made deeper drilling more profitable. Chesapeake believes the Appalachian Basin can produce reserves that will help lessen our dependence on foreign oil.

Upcoming Speaker

Join us this coming Wednesday when we hear from Randall Reid Smith, Executive Director of Culture & History.
